HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 013173SPECIAL MEETING CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS JANUARY 31, 197.E A Special Meeting of the City Council of Palm Beach Girders was called to order by Mayor Wiley at 8 :00 P.M. on Thursday, January 31, 1973 in the Assembly Room, 10500 N. Military Trail, and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. ROLL CALL: Roll was called by the City Clerk and present were: Councilman Dunbar, Councilman D eLonga, Councilman Martino, Vice Mayor Kiedis and Mayor Wiley. City Manager Robert Carlson and Attorney William Brant were also present. PURPOSE: The Special Meeting was called for the purpose of accepting proposals on the City's Group, Health and Life Insurance, necessitated by the fact that the current carrier's contract expires 12:01 A.M. February 1, 1973. MR. ROBERT Mr. Robert Diamond, Agent of Record, introduced Mr. Alec QIAMONDr AGENT OF RECORD. Livingston, representative of Connecticut General Life Insurance Company and Mr. Bill Mc Cutchen, representative of Fringe Benefit Consultants. Mr. Diamond stated he had requested quotations from Blue Cross Blue Shield, Travelers Insurance Company, Crown Life Insurance Company, Pilot Life Insurance Company and Connecticut General Life Insurance Company. Crown Life Insurance Company did not quote but proposals were available on the four other companies. Mr. Diamond recommended Connecticut General Life Insurance Company because of higher benefits and a three year guarantee premium rate. The benefits were explained to the Council by Mr. Diamond, Mr. Livingston and mr. McCutchen.
