HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 100372SPECIAL MEETING CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS OCTOBER 3, 1972 A Special Meeting of the City Council of Palm Beach Gardens was held at 7:45 P.M. in the Assembly Room, 10500 N. Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. PURPOSE: The purpose of the meeting was for the City Council to act as a Canvassing Board to open and count the Absentee Ballots. ROLL CALL: All members of the Council and Attorney Brant were present. Attorney Brant at the request of Mayor Wiley quoted Section 8_79 "Canvassing Absent Elector's Ballot" of the Palm Beach Gardens Code. MOTION TO Councilman DeLonga made a motion that the Canvassing Board at this CANVASS VOTES: ime also Canvass the Votes and declare a winner. Following a discussion the motion was withdrawn. ILLEGAL VOTES: The Canvassing Board declared two (2) Absentee Ballots to be illegal. �-- ELECTOR'S The remaining Absentee Ballots, a total of thirteen (13) were declared MARKED IN BOOKS: in order and the elector's were duly marked in the respective books from Precincts 45 and 47 by Mrs. Florence Anderson, Clerk of Precinct 47. COUNT OF The count of the Absentee Ballots was made by the Canvassing Board VOTES: with the following results: Precinct 47 Barbara James 4 votes Michael Martino O votes Precinct 45 Barbara James 5 votes Michael Martino 4 votes Total Absentee votes _ 13 CANVASSING OF Canvassing of the Votes will be held at the Regular Meeting VOTES: on October 5, 1972. Special Meeting, October 3, 1972 Page 2 ADJOURNMENT. Meeting adjourned on a motion by Councilman Bonner, seconded by Councilman Dunbar at 8:15 P.M.
