CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS
February 11, 1971
A Special meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. at City Hall,
3704 Burns Road, February 11, 1971.
Mayor DeLonga stated a special meeting had been called by the City Council
for consideration of a resolution authorizing the General Obligation
Bond Referendum to be placed on the ballot of the General Election to be
held on Tuesday, March 16, 1971, and due to the time element for advertising
this could not be held off for the Regular meeting.
Roll was called by the City Clerk. Present were: Councilman Prentiss,
Councilman James, Concilman Orr, Vice Mayor Wiley and Mayor DeLonga.
Mr. Carlson and atty. Brant were present.
Mayor DeLonga asked the Council to reconsider their decision of placing
Plat No 6 canal on the GOB issue ballot of Election March 16, 1971. Pros
and cons were discussed again and Mayor DeLonga called for a vote.
Voting to leave the Plat No. 6 Canal on the ballot were: Councilman
Prentiss, Councilman James, Councilman Orr. Voting to take the issue off
were Vice Mayor Wiley and Mayor DeLonga.
Council recessed at 8:30 P.M. to review and read the Resolution presented by
Atty. Brant, setting up the Bond Election and to study all provisions more
thoroughly, and make changes.
Meeting was called to order at 9:15 P.M. by Mayor DeLonga and directed the
City Clerk to read Resolution #7.
Motion to adopt Resolution #7, Calling for the Bond Election, by Vice
Mayor Wiley seconded by Councilman James. Vote 5 ayes and 0 nays.
Atty. Brant set up publishing dates for advertising in the Palm Beach
Post Times for February 13, 209 27 and March 6, 1971. Council congratulated
Atty.Brant for a job well done.

ADJOURNMENT: No. further business and motion to adjourn by Councilman Prentiss
seconded by Vice Mayor Wiley; time for the record 10:50 P.M.
