ORGANIZATION MEETING
April 5 , 1971
The Organization meeting for the City of Palm Beach Gardens was called to order by Mayor
DeLonga at 8:00 P.M. and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
ROLL CALL: Roll was called by the City Clerk. Present were: Councilman Prentiss,
Councilman James, Councilman Orr, Vice Mayor Wiley and Mayor DeLonga. Mr.
Carlson and Attorney Brant attended.
OATHS TO The City Clerk administered Oaths of Office to John L. Orr, Jr. and John
COUNCILMEN
Kiedis who were then seated to the Council table. Mayor DeLonga expressed
his pleasure of working with Councilman Prentiss and that he would be missed.
TEMPORARY Mayor DeLonga was appointed to act as the temporary Chairman for the Nomina-

tions of Mayor and Vice Mayor on a motion by Councilman Kiedis seconded by
Vice Mayor Wiley. Approved.
NOMINATIONS Motion by Vice Mayor Wiley that it was a pleasure to nominate James C. DeLonga
as Mayor for another term in that he had done such an excellent job in the
past year as mayor. Seconded by Councilman Orr. Motion amended by Council-
man James to appoint Walter A. Wiley III as Vice Mayor and include the names
on Resolution #13 to be read by the City Clerk. Seconded by Councilman Orr.
Unanimously approved.
Motion that nominations cease by Councilman Orr seconded by Councilman Kiedis
Approved unanimously.
Mayor DeLonga expressed his thanks to the Council stating that he was very
pleased with the cooperation of the Council in the past year and it was a
pleasure to work so well together.
RESOLUTION #13 Resolution #13, Appointing the Mayor and Vice Mayor and was unanimously adopted
ME MAYOR on a motion by Councilman James seconded by Councilman Orr.
APPOINTMENT Councilman Orr was unanimously approved for appointment as Deputy Treasurer.
