BUDGET WORKSHOP MEETING
October 7, 1971
PURPOSE: A Workshop Meeting to discuss the 1971 -1972 General Fund Budget
for the City of Palm Beach Gardens, was called to order by Mayor
DeLonga at 9:30 P.M. The Meeting was held in the Public Assembly
Room, Palm Beach Gardens' City Hall. Present were: Mayor DeLonga,
Vice Mayor Wiley, Councilmen James, Orr, and Kiedis. The City
Manager, R. Carlson was also present. The City Clerk and City
Attorney were excused from this meeting.
DISCUSSION &
RECOMMENDATIONS: The expenditures for General Government were reviewed and the Council
unanimously agreed to the following adjustments:
Account #205 -A: Memberships and Subscriptions: An additional
$100.00 was added to this account for the City's membership in the
North Palm Beach County's Chamber of Commerce.
It was also the unanimous decision of the City Council to drop the
City's membership in the Florida League of Cities, thereby reducing
this account $750.00.
Account #314; Printing & Publishing: Increased from $800.00 to
$1,000.00.
Account #416: Community Promotion: Increased the contribution to
the Inter -City First Aid Squad from $1,000.00 to $1,500.00.
Increased the Employees' Christmas Party from $800.00 to $1,120.00.
Added a $500.00 contribution to the North County Drug Abuse Council.
A list of 18 Capital Projects was read by the City Manager for the
Council's consideration and the purchase of microphones for the
Council's Meeting Room, a T.V. monitoring system for the two re-
creation rooms and foyer area on the first floor, and a Reed Drive
Drainage Project were added to the list.

DISCUSSION & The Development of the recently acquired 10 acres as a Baseball
RECOMMENDATIONS:
(Continued) and Football Complex was discussed but a definite appropriation was
not decided.
The above adjustments resulted in a net increase of $870.00 to the
General Government Account.
The next Budget Workshop Meeting was scheduled for Monday, October 11,
1971, 7;30 P.M.
There being no further business, Meeting adjourned at 11:00 P.M.
