CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS
October 14, 1971
The City Council met on Ocotber 14, 1971 in the Assembly Room at 10500 N.
Military Trail at 8:00 PM. Mayor DeLonga opened the meeting with the Pledge of
ORDINANCE #13 Ordinance #13 was read in full with Exhibits A and B, and millage at 6 mills.
=-72 BUDGET
Council agreed to change the wording of Section I to read "and those properties
exempted by the ordinances etc."
ADJOURNMENT Meeting adjourned and Council continued on into Workshop Meeting.

ROLL CALL
Roll was called by the City Clerk. Present were: Councilman James, Council-
man Orr, Councilman Kiedis, Vice Mayor Wiley and Mayor DeLonga. Mr. Carlson,
City Manager and George Baldwin, Attorney were present.
PURPOSE:
Mayor DeLonga announced the purpose of the Special Meeting was to read,on
first reading, Ordinance #13, 1971 which is the General Bind Budget for 1971 -72.
BUDGET:
Mr. Carlson suggested to the Council they consider his 3 Budget proposals which
were based on the millage set at either 6.25, 6.13 and at 6 mills. He also
gave a report on the status of the General Fund Account through September 1971.
Council discussed the proposed budget and authorized redistributions of various
funds. The program for capital improvements was reviewed item by item and
Council arrived at a figure of $80,000 for priority items of 1971 -72. Mayor
DeLonga recommended to the Council they consider adopting a Budget at 6 mills,
and polling the Council on their choice was. Vice Mayor Wileq-6 mills, Council-
man Kiedis and Councilman Orr -6.25 mills, Councilman James made no decision,
Mayor DeLonga -6 mills. After a review of the Bridget page by page and discussion
Councilman Kiedis moved to read the proposed 1971 -72 Budget at 6.25 mills.
Motion died for a lack of a second. Motion by Vice Mayor Wiley that Ordinance
#13 be read in full with Exhibits A and B, modifying to read 6 mills.
Mayor DeLonga relinquished the gavel to second the motion. Vice Mayor Wiley
asked for the vote. Vote 5 ayes and 0 nays. He returned the gavel to Mayor
DeLonga.
