January 19, 1970
Workshop meeting of the City of Palm Beach Gardens was called to order by Mayor
Blanck at 5:00 P. M. Monday, January 19, 1970.
Roll was called by the City Clerk and present were: Mayor Blanck, Vice Mayor
Walker, Councilman Bonner, Councilman Prentiss and Councilman James. City
Manager, Robert Carlson and Attorney Brant were present.
Council approved for Attorney Brant to draw up a resolution to appoint first and
second Fire Chiefs as had been reported by Chief Summers as a result of an
election by the Department. Motion by Vice Mayor Walker seconded by Councilman
Prentiss. Vote 5 ayes and 0 nays.
Review of the Lot Clearing Ordinance with Attorney Brant explaining sections
resulted in a motion by Vice Mayor Walker seconded by Councilman Prentiss to place
ordinance on the agenda for first reading on January 26, 1970. Vote 5 ayes and 0 nays.
Motion by Councilman James seconded by Vice Mayor Walker to Place Ordinance #2,
Cable T. V. Contract on the agenda for January 26, for first reading. Vote 5 ayes
and 0 nays. Attorney Brant stated there would be a waiting period of 30 days
between the first and second reading as this was a contract.
Council reviewed Resolution #5, Urging Palm Beach County and Martin County to consider
not to reqone unimproved lands adjacent to Pratt & Whitney and agreed to place it on
the agenda for the 26th with a stipulation that if more information has been obtained
by the time of the reading amendments will be made. Motion by Councilman Bonner
seconded by Vice Mayor Walker.
Council accepted Mr. Dukes recreation report on the survey of tennis facilities and
asked for recommendations from the recreation Board.
City Manager presented pictures and costs for the purchase of portable bleachers.
Motion by Councilman Bonner seconded by Councilman James to proceed to purchase
two bleachers and pay out of Capital improvement.
City Manager's request for printing of an annual report. Councilman Bonner moved
to approve the printing and place on the agenda for January 26, seconded by Council-
man Prentiss. Vote 5 ayes and 0 nays.
Motion by Councilman Bonner seconded by Councilman Prentiss to appoint the election

officers as were appointed for 1969 and Mayor Blanck asked that Mrs— Flnrence
.� Anderson be Clerk and Mrs. Perrin be alternate inspector. Mrs. Bestland, Mrs.
Caillouette and Mrs, Cunningham be inspectors. Suggested for clean up of lavatories.
Vote 5 ayes and 0 nays.
Mayor Blanck announced the Public Bearing on Ordinance #22 for Janaary 26, 1970.
Mayor Blanck announced a Recreational Meeting for Wednesday, January 21 and also
asked that the Council consider appointing Ken Turner to the Recreation Board
to fill the vacancy created by E. Craig James appointed to the Council.
He asked that all Boards present their minutes to all of the existing Boards of
the City.
Mr. Carlson was asked to attend the Palm Beach County Municipal League if Mayor
Blanck was unable to attend the meeting scheduled for Friday, January 30.
No further business and meeting adjourned on a motion by Councilman Prentiss
seconded by Councilman Bonner. Time for the record 10:30 P.M.
