CITY OF PAIM BEACH GARDENS
March 9, 1970
JUORUM Palm Beach Gardens City Council met in Regular session on March 9,
1970 at City Ball, 3704 Burns Rd. at 8:00 P.M. Mayor Blanck opened
the meeting and directed the City Clerk to call the roll. Present
were Councilmdn Bonner, Councilman Prentiss, Councilman James and
Mayor Blanck. Vice Mayor Walker was absent. Mr. Carlson, City
Manager and Win. Brant, City Attorney were present.
SPECIAL MINUTES Minutes of the Special meeting of March 4, 1970 were read and approved
on a motion by Councilman Bonner seconded by Councilman Prentiss with
an amendment to the minutes to add the word, "table ". Vote 4 ayes
and 0 nays.
REGULAR MINUTES Motion by Councilman Bonner seconded by Councilman Prentiss that the
APPROVED
reading of the minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 23, 1970
be waived and approval be by each Councilman's signature. Vote 4 ayes
and 0 nays.
`-' MON -1 :1MY REPORTS Mayor Blanck reviewed the monthly reports from the departments of
Public-Works, Police, Building, Fire, Recreation and Police Reserves.
PETITIONS & COMAW - A letter from Mr. Claire Anderson,(of Bankers Life) advising the

City of the sewer plans and progress was read by Mayor Blanck; he
announced a meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, 1970 and that
he would report to the Council.
Mr. Carlson's report on the footbridge at Keating Dr was read by
Mayor Blanck., and the report that repairs are being scheduled by the
Public works Department.
ORDINANCE # 2, Motion by Councilman Prentiss seconded by Councilman Bonner to read
Ordinance #2, CATV Contract, by Title only on second reading. Vote
4 ayes and 0 nays. Council agreed that complaints on cable TV should
go directly to the Company and if results are not obtained satisfact-
orily then bring them to the City. Motion to adopt by Councilman
Bonner seconded by Councilman Prentiss. Vote 4 ayes and 0 nays.

OLD BUSINESS:
Speeding on Plant Drive was discussed and Mr. Carlson reported
there were poles being placed in the area to eliminate speeding and
cutting across property. Roll out signs were suggested.
NEW BUSINESS a.
City Manager, Robert Carlson requested Council to authorize the
City Engineer to prepare plans for the storm drainage as this had
been discussed at the Special meeting of the Steering Committee and
Council and approved. Motion by Councilman Bonner that the City Eng-
ineer be authorized to proceed with detailed plans and bid specifica=
Lions for the culvert crossing under Burns Road and the storm drain-
age along the north side of Burns Road to the east property line.

from Burns Road to the Thompson River considering this as an alternate
bid; seconded by Councilman Prentiss. Vote 4 ayes and 0 nays.
The City's Public Works Department will do much of the canal work.
Council discussed covering the canals throughout the City and suggested
Plmmning and Zoning Board investigate for cost and time for such a
project for the future. Stating also they would like the City
Engineer to furnish a k ost per foot estimate for canal coverage.

Motion by Councilman Bonner seconded by Councilman Prentiss to post-
pone the meeting of the 16th because of the eve of election and
reschedule meetings for Workshop on March 23 and Regular meeting
March 30. Vote 4 ayes and 0 nays.

Announcement of election and voting for both precints at Golfers
Village Recreation Building.

Canvas of votes date was scheduled for Wednesday March 1S at 5:15
at City Hall.

Announcement was made of the publication of invitation to bid for
the Municipal Complex and opening scheduled for March 24, 1970
at 5 P.M.

Mr. Carlson invited the Council to the coffee Club at the Colonnades
for Wednesday at 8 a.m.

him first for signature and if he was not available his alternate
would sign.
Attorney Brant announced that a meeting for the sale of the Hospital
was scheduled for 2 pm. on Monday March 16, 1970 at City Hall.
ADJOURNMENT No further business and motion to adjourn by Councilman Prentiss
seconded by Councilman Bonner.
