ROLL CALL Roll was called by the City Clerk and present were: Councilman Prentiss, Councilman Wiley, Councilman James and Mayor Blanck. Atty Brant and City Manager, Robert Carlson attended. Vice Mayor, DeLonga was absent due to being on vacation. HEARINGS: Discussion was held on the following properties: 1. Plat 6- -Block 76 -Lot 16-- Harold I. & Frances Mendenhall. Hunnicutt & Associates recommended a 5% adjustment to be in line with other similar properties. Councilman Wiley moved to accept the recommendations of Hunnicutt & Associates. Motion died for lack of a second. The Equalization Board did not feel an adjustment was in accord with other 1970 assessments throughout the City; therefor no change was recommended by the Board and valuation will be as set. 2. Camberwell Apartments on PGA Boulevard. Hunnicutt and Associates recommended a $900.00 deduction on each of the 20 apartments to bring them in line with each other as to the square footage. Council discussed the recommendation and felt there was not enough basis for a $900 deduction. Councilman Prentiss moved to table for further evaluation but motion died for lack of a second. Mr. Carlson stated to the Council that as a usual thing most Boards do accept the recommendations of the experts in equalization of taxes and Hunnicutt and Associates had been retained at a fee by the City for the purpose as consultants and experts in taxation and appraisals. Councilman Wiley moved that a reduction of $750.00 be authorized as the apartments were built on an equal square footage basis and an appraisal be set at $30,500 for each apartment.
