CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS
Thursday, October 29, 1970
MINUTES:
A Special Meeting was called by the Mayor for this date to determine
a course of action regarding the further issuance of Building Permits.
The Meeting was called to order by Mayor Blanck at approximately
5:15 PM. Upon roll being called, Councilman Wiley and Vice Mayor DeLonga
answered present. Councilman James and Councilman Prentiss were absent.
The City Manager and City Attorney were also present. Mr. Vincent Pappalardo,
President of Fairway Homes, Inc., was also in attendance.
A letter, authored by Lawrence D. Lukin, P.E., Director, Division of
Environmental Services, was read into the records (see copy attached). This
letter advises that the City not issue any further Building Permits because
of the anticipated additional sewage generated by the number of Building
Permits issued for construction in the City as of October 21, 1970.
After a thorough discussion, the Council instructed the City Attorney
to prepare an Ordinance establishing a final date for the acceptance of
written applications for a Building Permit requiring a tie -in to the Sanitary
Sewer System; and a final date by which all documents necessary for the
issuance of a Building Permit must be approved. This Ordinance is to be
considered at a Special Meeting at 8:00 PM on Monday, November 2, 1970.
Meeting adjourned, approximately 6:00 PM.
