HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 122170CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS WORKSHOP MEETING MONDAY, DECEMBER 21, 1970 The Workshop Meeting of December 21, 1970, was called to order at 8:00 PM and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Roll was called by the City Clerk. Present were: Councilman James, Councilman Prentiss, Vice Mayor Wiley, and Mayor DeLonga. Attorney Brant and City Manager Carlson were also present. APPOINTMENT TO Motion by Councilman James, seconded by Councilman PLANNING AND Prentiss that Attorney Brant prepare a resolution ZONING appointing Ted Brown, Jr. to the Planning and Zoning Commission to serve the unexpired term of James W. Hughes. Vote - 4 ayes, 0 Nays PROJECTS FOR A list of Workshop Items was presented by the City WORKSHOP Manager. After a discussion, priorities were assigned each item. CAPITAL PROJECTS Capital projects for the General Bond Issue were reviewed. Council decided to further explore the "Service Area Concept" for Fire Control and requested Councilman Wiley to meet with Chief Mortimer to discuss same. Swimming pool will be further evaluated; cost of maintenance determined. City Manager was authorized to contact the Fiscal Agents and request that they prepare several schedules for the Maturity of the Bonds at different interest rates. Beautification and additional parking at the City Complex were deleted. SUBDIVISION DISCUSSION Subdivision Regulations was discussed; changes incorporated; the Ordinance rescheduled for next Workshop. Recommendations from Howatd Searcy will be incorporated at the final reading. Planning and Zoning Commission will make a recommendation on Section 309. Scheduled for Workshop, January 4, 1971. AIR/WATER POLLUTION Air/Water Pollution Ordinance was discussed and will be placed on January 4, 1971 Workshop Agenda. RESOLUTION FOR AUTEC Mayor DeLonga instructed the City Attorney to prepare a resolution supporting AUTEC in the area.
