HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 031969CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL March 19, 1969 SPECIAL MEETING The Special Meeting of the Council of the City of Palm Beach Gardens was held on March 19, 1969 at 5:15 P.M. at City Hall. Mayor Bonner presided. QUORUM Mayor Bonner directed the City Clerk to call the roll. Present were: Councilman Walker, Councilman Jewett, Councilman Brown, Vice Mayor Earle and Mayor Bonner. PURPOSE OF Mayor Bonner announced the purpose of the meeting for the can- MEETING vassing of general election returns of March 18, 1969. He asked for a motion to read Resolution #12, 1969, Declaring the results of the Election. ADJOURN TO Councilman Walker moved that the canvassing Board adjourn the VOTING MACHINES meeting and journey to the poll to canvass the voting machines and return for the reading of the Resolution. Motion seconded by Councilman Brown. Voting on the motion 4 ayes and 1 nay. Councilman Jewett voted nay. The Council agreed it would be a good plan to canvass machines at future elections to avoid any question that might arise. Meeting adjourned at 5:22 P.M. to return to the poll to check the machines. At the Poll Mrs. Cunningham, Clerk of the Election Board opened the two voting machines for full viewing by the Canvassing Board and were found to be in accord with the tabulation of the 7 :00 P.M. of March 18, 1969 Statement of Canvass. Return to City Hall and meeting reconvened at 5:37 P.M. Motion by Vice Mayor Earle seconded by Councilman Jewett to Read Resolution #12, 1969,Declaring results of General Election of March 18, 1969. Vote to read, 5 ayes and 0 nays. Mayor Bonner directed the City Clerk to read Resolution #12, 1969. Motion to Adjournment SPECIAL MEETING,March 19, 1969 Page 2 adopt by Councilman Brown seconded by Councilman Walker. Vote 5 ayes and no nays.
