HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 051269CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL May 12, 1969 REGULAR MEETING The regular meeting of the Council of the City of Palm Beach Gardens was held on May 12, 1969 at 8:00 P.M., 3704 Burns Road, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Vice Mayor Blanck presided. QUORUM Vice Mayor Blanck instructed the City Clerk to call the roll. Present were: Councilman Bonner, Walker and Prentiss and Vice Mayor Blanck. Mayor Jewett was absent due to being hospitalized. MINUTES OF REGULAR Motion by Councilman Walker, seconded by Councilman MEETING_ Bonner that the reading of the minutes of April 28, 1969 be waived and approval be by each Councilmants signature. Vote 4 ayes and no nays. DEPARTMENT REPORTS Vice Mayor Blanck reviewed reports from the Building, Police, Recreation, Public Works and Fire Department for the month of April. COMMUNICATIONS AND Vice Mayor Blanck read the letter from Inter City First PETITIONS Aid designating a representative for the City on Palm Beach County Ambulance Committee. He also read a letter of commendation to Palm Beach Gardens Volunteer Fire Department for excellent response and assistance at the fire at the R.C.A. building in April. Minutes of Regular Meeting, May 12, 1969 Page 2 ORDINANCE #9, 1969 Motion by Councilman Walker, seconded by Councilman REVISE BUDGET Prentiss to read on first reading Ordinance #9, 19699 Revision of 1968 -69 Budget. Vote 4 ayes and no nays. Vice Mayor Blanck instructed the City Clerk to read. ORDINANCE #10, 1969 Motion by Councilman Walker, seconded by Councilman AMENDING ZON NG ORDINANCE #21, 1968 Prentiss to read in full on first reading Ordinance #10, 1969, Amending Zoning Ordinance #21, 1968, setting fence height. Vote 4 ayes and no nays. Vice Mayor Blanck instructed the City Clerk to read Ordinance #10. ORDINANCE #11, 1969 Motion by Councilman Walker, seconded by Councilman AMENDING OCCUPATICNAL LICENSE ORDINANCE #14, Prentiss to read on first reading in full Ordinance #11, 1965 1969, Amending Occupational License Ordinance #14, 1965, Setting fees for Mobile Home Parks. Vote 4 ayes and no nays. Vice Mayor Blanck instructed the City Clerk to read Ordinance #11. ORDINANCE #8 1969 Motion by Councilman Walker, seconded by Councilman ANNEXING LAND IN NE'; of SECTION 12 Prentiss to remove Ordinance #8, 1969, Annexing land in NE4 of Section 12, from table and read on second reading by title only. Vote 4 ayes and no nays. City Clerk was instructed to read Ordinance #8, 1969 by title only. Motion to adopt by Councilman Walker, seconded by Councilman Prentiss. Vote was 4 ayes and no nays. RESOLUTION #20, 1969 Motion by Councilman Bonner, seconded by Councilman - FT. RIGHT -OF -WAY ON JOHNSON Walker to read Resolution #20, 1969, Dedication of DAIRY ROAD. Minutes of Regular Meeting, May 12, 1969 Page 3 5 Ft. right -of -way on Johnson Dairy Road. Vice Mayor Blanck instructed the City Clerk to read Resolution #209 1969. Vote to read 4 ayes and no nays. Motion by Councilman Walker, seconded by Councilman Prentiss to adopt Resolution #20, 1969 with a 4 aye and no nay vote. RESOLUTION #22, 1969 Motion by Councilman Walker, seconded by Councilman ABANDONJ9ENT OF EASE- MENT IN 14SRIDIAN Prentiss to read Resolution #22, 1969, Abandonment _PAR IC. of easement in Meridian Park and accepting easement. Vote 4 ayes and no nays. Vice Mayor Blanck instructed the City Clerk to read Resolution #22, 1969. Motion by Councilman Walker, seconded by Councilman Prentiss to adopt. Vote 4 ayes anti no nays. Attorney Brant stated the deed had been received and checked by the City Engineer, Howard Searcy and found everything correct. RESOLUTION #23, 1969 Motion by Councilman Ualker, seconded by Councilman APPOII+ITI NG REPR SENT- AT VE FOR THE CITY Prentiss to read Resolution #230 1969, Appointing T PALM BEACH C OUNTY AMBULANCE COM14ITTEE representative for the City to the Palm Beach County Ambulance Committee. Vote 4 ayes and no nays. City Clerk read Resolution #23, 1969. Motion to adopt by Councilman Walker, seconded by Councilman Bonner, Vote 4 ayes and no nays. NEW BUSINESS The Council agreed to have a representative for the City at the Forum on sewage systems to be held in Minutes of Regular Meeting, May 12, 1969 Page 4 Boca Raton on May 23, 1969 at the Florida University, .� and named Howard Searcy, City Engineer. Discussion came up on the recreation storage shelter building and was tabled until further investigation by the Council. Plans for the 10th Anniversary and the 4th of July Celebration were discussed. ADJOURNMENT No further business and motion to adjourn by Councilman Bonner, seconded by Councilman Walker. 4 ayes and no nays. Time for the record 9:55 P.M.
