CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS
REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
July 8, 1968
The Council of the City of Palm Beach Gardens met at City Hall,
July 8, 1968 at 8:00 P.M. for a Regular Meeting with Mayor Bonner
presiding.
UORUM Roll call was called by the Clerk with Councilman Brown, Walker,
and Jewett and Vice Mayor Earle present.
MINUTES Motion by Vice Mayor Earle, seconded by Councilman Walker, that the
reading of the minutes of the Regular meeting of June 24, 1968 be
waived and approval be by each Councilman's signature. Voting to
approve was 5 ayes and no nays.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS Vice Mayor Earle motioned to waive the reading of the department
reports for the month of June, seconded by Councilman Brown. Vote
was 5 ayes and no nays. Each report was reviewed. Vice Mayor Earle
was designated to get a proposal ready so that action can be started
for a relief in the dog biting and dog nuisance situation with the
surrounding communities.
Under Recreation Report, Mayor Bonner complimented the department
under the direction of Woodrow Dukes on the excellent 4th of July
celebration they organized and held.
Public Works will be presented with a dollar figure for the drainage
problems now existing through the City Engineer's evaluation.
ORDINANCE #18 -1968 Motion by Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilman Walker, that Ord.
REVISED BUDGET
#18 -1968, Revising 1967 -68 Budget, be read by title only on second
reading by the Clerk. Vote was 5 ayes and no nays. Motion by Vice

Mayor Earle, seconded by Councilman Walker, that Ord. #18 -1968
be adopted as read. Vote was 5 ayes and no nays in favor of motion.
ORD. #20 -1968 Motion by Vice Mayor Earle, seconded by Councilman Walker that
AMENDING ORD. #15-
1966, CONTRACTORS Ord. #20 -1968, Amending Contractors Ord. #15 -1966, be read by title
only on second reading by the Clerk. Vote was 5 ayes and no nays.
Adopted on a motion by Vice Mayor Earle, seconded by Councilman
Brown, with a vote of 5 ayes and no nays.

FIRE CHIEF'S SALARY
MOTION TO ACCEPT
PRELIMINARY TAX
ROLL - 1968
Motion by Vice Mayor Earle, seconded by Councilman Walker to read
Res. #23 -1968, Increasing Fire Chief's Salary, be read by the Clerk.
Vote was 5 ayes and no nays. Motion by Vice Mayor Earle, seconded
by Councilman Brown to adopt Res. #23 -1968 as read. Vote was 5 ayes
and no nays in favor of motion.
Motion to accept preliminary 1968 Tax Roll was by Vice Mayor Earle,
seconded by Councilman Walker. Vote was 5 ayes and no nays.
EQUALIZATION DATE The date for the Equalization Board Meeting was set for August 3, 1968
at 9:30 A.M. on a motion by Councilman Brown, seconded by Vice Mayor
Earle. Vote was 5 ayes and no nays.
OTHER BUSINESS Mayor Bonner reviewed correspondence to the Governmental Study
Commission on computerization and a letter written to the Public
Service Commission on any rate adjustment of water, sewer and gas
for the City of Palm Beach Gardens. Architectural control of signs
and buildings was discussed, and a proposal on this will be prepared
for future study and passage.
Chief Pecht was designated to be the representative to the Red Cross
meeting on mobilization of activities in a disaster.

Mayor Bonner read a letter from the Jaycees thanking the City of
Palm Beach Gardens for the donation and for his participation at
the dinner of awards for the shark tournament.
ADJOURNMENT No further business and meeting adjourned on a motion by Vice Mayor
Earle, seconded by Councilman Brown.. Time for the record was 9:00 P.M.
