REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
August 12, 1968
REGULAR MEETING The Council of the City of Palm Beach Gardens met at City Hall,
August 12, 1968 at 8:00 P.M. for the Regular Meeting with Mayor
Bonner presiding.
QUORUM Roll was called by the City Clerk with Councilman Brown and Vice
Mayor Earle and Mayor Bonner present. Councilman Jewett arrived at 8:25
P.M. Councilman Walker was on vacation.
MINUTES Motion by Vice Mayor Earle seconded by Councilman Brown that the
reading of the minutes of the Regular meeting of July 22, 1968 be
waived and approval be by each Councilman�s signature. Voting to
approve was 3 ayes and no nays; minutes approved.
MINUTES OF Minutes of the Equalization Board meeting were read by the Clerk on a
EQUALIZATION
Motion by Vice Mayor Earle seconded by Councilman Brown, vote was
3 ayes and no nays. Motion for approval of minutes was by Vice
Mayor Earle seconded by Councilman Brown, voting 3 ayes and no nays.
DEPT. Monthly reports of the Building, Recreation, Police and Fire depart -
MONTHLY
REPORTS ments were reviewed by theMayor with approval by the Council.
CHANGE OF Motion to schedule meeting dates for Sept. 9, 16, 23, and Sept. 30,
MEETING DATES
1968 was by Vice Mayor Earle seconded by Councilman Brown. Voting
3 ayes and no nays.
1968 TAX The equalized 1968 Tax Roll was presented and accepted by the
ROLL CCEPTED
Council on a motion by Councilman Brown seconded by Vice Mayor
Earle. Vote for acceptance was 3 ayes and no nays.
Mayor Bonner acknowledged a thank you letter from the Board of Public
Instruction for the Child education program.
FIRST READING Ordinance #21 which was tabled at the meeting of July 22 1968 was

Councilman Brown; voting 3 ayes and no nays. Motion
to read Ord. 21, 1968, Zoning Ordinance was by vice
Mayor Earle seconded by Councilman Brown.

SALE OF ALCOHOLIC A proposed change in Article V, page 42 Accessory uses was

discussed to define dining facilities and limit sale of
malt beverages. Vice Mayor Earle suggested hours for
the sale of alcoholic beverages as 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The
Council was poled on the suggested hours and were in
unanimous agreement for the hours of sale of alcoholic
beverages between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Councilman Brown concluded he did not go along with this
section of the Ordinance but was in favor of the proposed
Zoning Ordinance.
Voting on the reading of the Ordinance was 3 ayes and 1 nay.
Councilman Jewett voted nay.
Ordinance #21, 1968, Zoning Ordinance was read on first
reading by the City Clerk.
ADJOURNMENT No further business and motion to adjourn was by Vice
Mayor Earle seconded by Councilman Brown. Vote 4 ayes
and no nays. Time for the record, 10:25 P.M.
