HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 111868CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL November 18, 1968 QUORUM Mayor Bonner directed the City Clerk to call the roll. Mayor Bonner, Vice Mayor Earle, Councilman Walker and Councilman Brown were present. SPECIAL MEETING Motion by Vice Mayor Earle, seconded by Councilman Walker to adjourn the Workshop Meeting and go into Special Meeting to open bids. Vote was 4 ayes and no nays. Councilman Brown stated he would abstain from voting as his company was one of the bidders. PURPOSE OF SPECIAL The Special Meeting was called to order by Mayor Bonner stating the MEETING purpose of the Special Meeting was to consider opening of the Pension Plan bids. The opening of the bids had been deferred to seek alter- native bids and an emergency existed due to the fact that the bids are retroactive to November 1, 1968 and that budgeted funds were made available to cover this plan from November 1, 1968. Councilman Jewett arrived at 8:05 P.M. OPENING BIDS FOR Motion to open bids by Vice Mayor Earle, seconded by Councilman PENSION PLAN Walker. Vote was 4 ayes and no nays. City Manager Poston opened the bids and quoted bid prices on 14 Deferred Annuities and 5 Deposit Administration Plans. Mayor Bonner recommended that the City Manager make a comparison and make benefits available to the Council. Motion by Councilman Walker, seconded by Vice Mayor Earle. Vote was 4 ayes and no nays. AWARDING OF BIDS SET The Council agreed bids would be awarded November 25, 1968 at the FOR 11/25/68 Regular Meeting. Appreciation and thanks was extended to the bidders for their efforts and time spent on the Pension Plans.
