March 22, 1967
The City Council of Palm Beach Gardens met at the City Nall, 10128
Meridian Way, Meridian Park, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on Wednesday,
March 22, 1967, at 10:20 A.M., to sit as the Canvassing Board to can-
vass the election results of the election held on March 21, 1967. Mayor
Diamond directed the Clerk to call the roll. All Councilmen were pres-
eat except Vice Mayor Hughes and Councilman Bonner. Mayor Diamond stated
that three Councilmen being present, there was a quorum.
The first order of business was to approve the election returns as
recorded by machine, to account for any absentee ballots, and to set
forth a total account of votes. The Clerk then read the machine count,
which was 295 votes, the total number of votes cast, and one absentee
vote. The absentee vote was opened by the Clerk and read as follows:
1 vote for William D. Earle, Councilman Group 2; 1 vote for Norman E.
Brown, Councilman Group 4; and I Straw Vote cast No.
Mayor Diamond then asked the Clerk of there were any irregularities
in the election at the polls. The Clerk stated there was one incident
which was handled properly, whereby a person objected to the news media
taking film at the polls. The Clerk overruled the person and told him
that this is done every year at every election and it is not in violation
of any election laws.
The next order of business was Res. #12 -1967, declaring the results
of the General Election held on March 21, 1967. Motion by Councilman
Earle, seconded by Councilman Brown, that Res. #12 -1967 be read by the
Clerk. Vote was 3 -0 in favor of the motion. Mayor Diamond instructed
the Clerk to read Res. #12 -1967. Motion by Councilman Earle, seconded

by Councilman Brown, that Res. #12 -1967 be adopted as read by the Clerk.
Vote was 3 -0 in favor of the motion.
There being no further business to come before the Council, Mayor Diamond
asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Motion by Councilman Earle,
seconded by Councilman Brown, that the meeting be adjourned. Vote was
3 -0 in favor of the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 A.M.
