MINUTES OF MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL ACTING AS CANVASSING BOARD
HELD ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17, 1965
The City Council, acting as a Canvassing Board, held a
meeting at 1001 Park Avenue, Lake Park, Florida, on Wednesday,
March 17, 1965, at 11:00 A.M.
QUORUM: Vice Mayor Horace S. Miller called the meeting to order.
The City Clerk called the roll of City Commissioners and announced
that all were present, with the exception of Mayor Norman Rowland.
RESULTS OF ELECTION; Vice Mayor Miller announced that the Inspectors of Election
CERTIFICATE OF
INSPECTORS OF had executed a certificate attesting to the results of a canvass
ELECTION; ABSENTEE
BALLOTS; FINAL of votes cast in the general election held on Tuesday, March 16,
VOTE AND
CIFICATION: 1965, and that the results of this canvass were as follows:
Results of ballots cast for Councilman, Group 2:
Ernest A. Brewer - 209
Ted Dela Court - 369
Results of ballots cast for Councilman, Group 4:
Joe C. Crocker - 69
Michael E. Jackson - 375
Bill Stellman - 137.
Whereupon, after City Clerk W. L. Cargill reported that of
four (4) absentee ballots received by him, three (3) were validly
cast, these three (3) absentee ballots were opened and counted with
the following results:

Results of absentee ballots cast for Councilman, Group 4:
Bill Stellman - 1
Michael E. Jackson - 2.
Thereupon, the City Clerk stated that the final tally of all votes
cast in the general election held on March 16, 1965, was now as follows:
Councilman, Group 2:
Ernest A. Brewer - 210
Ted Dela Court - 371
Councilman, Group 4:
Joe E. Crocker - 69
Michael E. Jackson - 377
Bill Stellman - 138.
Whereupon, the following resolution was duly made, seconded and
unanimously adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED, That the City Council does hereby declare
that after a final tally of all votes cast in the general
election held on Tuesday, March 16, 1965, the following
are hereby declared duly elected as Councilmen of the
~' City of Palm Beach Gardens, namely, Ted Dela Court as
Councilman in Group 2, and Michael E. Jackson as Council-
man in Group 4, the term of each to commence on April 5, 1965.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the meeting,
upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously adopted, it was duly adjourned.
