HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 051065i CITY OF PAIN BEACH GARDENS MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL ACTING AS ITSELF AND AS THE ZONING BOARD OF THE CITY HELD ON MONDAY, MAY 102 1965 The regular meeting of the City Council acting as itself and as the Zoning Board of the City, was held at the P.G.A. Clubhouse, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on Monday, May 10, 1965, at 8:00 o'clock P.M. MEETING CALLED TO Mayor Ted Dela Court called the meeting to order. The City RDER; UORUM: Clerk announced that a quorum of the City Council was present. PROPOSED ZONING The City Council considered proposed Zoning Ordinance I -J, which ORDINANCE 1 -Jr R-L NNIING was first read at the meeting held on April 5, 1965, and which concerns OF CERTAIN ND FROM the re- zoning of a tract of land lying in Sections 7, 8 and 18, ZONE "A" TO ZONE "R -3 "T SECOND Township 42 South, Range 43 East, Palm Beach County, Florida, now READING N ADOPTION: known as "Meridian Park," from Zoning Classification "A" to Zoning Classification "R -3." After consideration of the merits of this proposed zoning, the City Council then read for the second and final time Ordinance 1 -J and, by a vote of 4 to 1 (Councilman Jackson dissenting), ordained that this Ordinance be enacted to take effect immediately. PROPOSED ZONING The City Council also considered proposed Zoning Ordinance 1 -K, ORDINANCE 1 -K; M-40NIN O which was first read at the meeting held on April 5, 1965, and which CERTAIN LAND FROM ONE "R-111 to ZONE concerns the re- zoning of a tract of land located in the Southeast "R -2" and ZONE "R -311; OND READING AND Quarter of Section 12, Township 42 South, Range 42 East, Palm Beach ADOPTION: County, Florida, now known as "Golfers Village," from Zoning i Minutes of Regular Meeting of City Council Acting as Itself and as the Zoning Board of the City of May 10, 1965 Page 2 Classification "R -1" to Zoning Classification "R -2" and Zoning Classification "R -3." After consideration of the merits of this RESOLUTION EXPRESS- ING APPRECIATION TO COUNCILMAN HORACE S MILLER: ADJOURNMENT: proposed zoning, the City Council then read for the second and final time Ordinance 1- R and, by a vote of 4 to l (Councilman Jackson dissenting), ordained that this Ordinance be enacted to take effect immediately. The following Resolution was duly made, seconded and unanimously adopted: WHEREAS HORACE S. MILLER has served continuously without compensation as a Councilman of PALM BEACH GARDENS since its organization as a City, and WHEREAS HORACE S. MILLER served for a vital period as an indispensable liaison between the City of PALM BEACH GARDENS and its civic organizations, and WHEREAS HORACE S. MILLER at great personal sacrifice accepted reappointment to the Council for an additional year of service to this Community, and WHEREAS HORACE S. MILLER was personally instrumental in and devoted to a successful transition from appointive to elective government in the City of PALM BEACH GARDENS, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of PALM BEACH GARDENS, in Common Council convened, does hereby extend its sincere appreciation, gratitude and commendation for unique services rendered.
