MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL
HELD ON MONDAY, JULY 26, 1965
The regular meeting of the City Council was held at the
Garden Lanes Bowling Alley meeting room, Palm Beach Gardens,
Florida, on Monday, July 26, 1965, at 8:00 o'clock P.M.
MEETING CATT.RD TO Mayor Ted Dela Court called the meeting to order. After
ORDER; QUORUM:
calling the roll, the City Clerk announced that a quorum of the
City Council was present. Councilman Horace S. Miller was absent.
MINUTES OF REGULAR The City Clerk read the Minutes of the regular meeting of
MEETING OF JUNE 28,
1965 AND OF SPECIAL the City Council held on June 28, 1965, and the Minutes of the
MEETING OF JULY 9,
special meeting of the City Council held on July 9, 1965. Upon
motion duly made, seconded and unanimously adopted, these Minutes
were approved as read.
APPOINTMENT OF Captain Charley A. Root presented to the City Council the
ROBERT L. McGEHEE
AS POLICE OFFICER; qualifications of Mr. Robert L. McGehee, as Police Officer of the
OA OF OFFICE:
City of Palm Beach Gardens. Upon resolution duly made, seconded
and unanimously adopted, the appointment of Mr. McGehee was
ratified and confirmed. The Oath of Office of Mr. McGehee is
attached hereto.

VOLUNTEER FIRE DE-
PARTMENT REPORT FOR Volunteer Fire Department for June, 1965; this report was accepted

PROPOSED GENERAL Mayor Ted Dela Court read in full proposed General
ORDINANCE NO. 13 -
NUISANCE ORDINANCE; Ordinance No. 133 which was first introduced at the regular

ADOPTION: meeting of the City Council held on June 28, 1965, for the
second and final time. There being no objection thereto, upon
motion duly made, seconded and unanimously adopted, the Council
authorized that this Ordinance be ratified and ordained to take
effect immediately.

PROPOSED GENERAL The City Clerk read in full proposed General Ordinance
ORDINANCE N0. 14 -
POLICE RESERVE No. 14, which was first introduced at the regular meeting of the
ORDINANCE; SECOND
READING AND TION: City Council held on June 28, 1965, for the second and final time.
There being no objection thereto, upon motion duly made, seconded
and unanimously adopted, the Council authorized that this Ordinance
be ratified and ordained to take effect immediately.
Mayor Dela Court declared the formal portion of the
meeting concluded, and announced that there would be an informal
discussion period.
RECREATION PROGRAM; Councilman Michael E. Jackson gave a report regarding the
1965 REAL ESTATE TAX
ASSESSMENT ROLL: proposed Recreation Program for the City of Palm Beach Gardens.
Councilman Jackson also discussed the procedures which will be
followed by the City in preparing the 1965 real estate tax assessment
roll.
CITY ADMINISTRATIVE Councilman William L. Cargill gave a report on the
PERSONNEL AND EX-
PENSES: estimated expenditures to be anticipated in 1966 for administrative
personnel and expenses necessarily to be incurred by the City.

CIVIL DEFENSE: Civil Defense Director Richard W. Denmore gave a report
on Civil Defense, with specific reference to the use of a siren.
He informed the City Council that the Civil Defense plan previously
approved by the Council bad now been approved by the State of Florida.
CITY NEWSLETTER: Mayor Dela Court announced that the first City Newsletter
would be ready on Friday, July 30, 1965, at a cost to the City of
$57.00. The North Palm Beach -Palm Beach Gardens Jaycees offered
to handle the distribution of this Newsletter.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the meeting,
upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously adopted, it was
adjourned.
