HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 080965CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL HELD ON MONDAY, AUGUST 9, 1965 The regular meeting of the City Council was held at the Police Station, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on Monday, August 9, 1965, at 8:00 P.M. MEETING CALLED TO Mayor Ted Dela Court called the meeting to order. After ORDER? QUORUM: calling the roll, the City Clerk announced that a quorum of the City Council was present. Councilmen Horace S. Miller and James F. Kelleher were absent. MINUTES OF REGULAR The City Clerk read the Minutes of the regular meeting of MEETING OF JULY 26, AND OF SPECIAL the City Council held on July 26, 1965, and the Minutes of the special MEETING OF AUGUST 42 1965: meeting of the City Council held on August 4, 1965. Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously adopted, these minutes were approved as read. PALM BEACH GARDENS Mayor Dela Court summarized the reports of the Palm Beach BUILDING DEPARTMENT REPORTS FOR JUNE AND Gardens Building Department for June and July, 1965. These reports JULY, 1965: were approved as read. CONVEYANCE OF CER- Mayor Dela Court informed the Council that, in order to TAIN LANDS BY CITY TO STATE ROAD DEPART- construct State Road 9 (Interstate Highway I -95) through the City MENT OF FLORIDA FOR STATE ROAD 9 (INTER- of Palm Beach Gardens, it would be necessary for the City to convey STATE HIGHWAY I -95): and subordinate certain easements and rights -of -way to the State Road Department of Florida. Whereupon, on motion duly made by Councilman Michael E. Jackson, seconded by Councilman William L. Cargill and unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted: Minutes of Regular Meeting of City Council of August 9, 1965 PALM BEACH GARDENS POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT FOR JUNE, 1965: u ADJOURNMENT: Page 2 WHEREAS, it is proposed by the State of Florida, through the State Road Department of Florida, to locate, construct and maintain or improve a portion of State Road 9 in Palm Beach County, Florida; and WHEREAS, a portion of the lands involved and necessary to said project are owned by the City of Palm Beach Gardens; and WHEREAS, on behalf of the State of Florida, a request has been made for a conveyance of a portion of said lands of this City; and UPON MOTION OF Councilman Michael E. Jackson and seconded by Councilman William L. Cargill, the City Council does agree to authorize and direct its Mayor Councilman and City Clerk to execute the necessary instruments to effect such conveyance. Captain Charley A. Root read the report of the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department for June, 1965. This report was accepted as read.
