HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 091765CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL SEPTEMBER 17, 1965 SPECIAL Upon call of the Mayor, a special meeting of the City Coun- MEETING• cil of Palm Beach Gardens was held at 9:00 a.m., on Friday, Sep- tember 17, 1965, at the municipal offices of the City, 1001 Park Avenue,, Lake Park, Florida. QUORUM: After calling the roll, the City Clerk announced that a quo- rum of the City Council was present. Councilman James F. Kelleher was absent. OPPOSITION The Mayor stated that the meeting had been called for the pur- TO RE -ZON- ING�T pose of confirming certain actions taken on behalf of the Council ARC in opposing applications for re- zoning from R -1, single family, to C -1 or C -2, general or limited commercial, involving four parcels of land on Lake Park West Road in the area where the I -95 Inter- change is proposed to be located, said area being in close proxi- mity to the boundaries of the City of Palm Beach Gardens. Upon motion duly made and seconded, the following Resolution was passed and adopted: BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Palm Beach Gardens, a municipal corporation of the State of Florida, that the action of the Mayor and other representa- tives of the Council in appearing on hehalf of the City before the Palm Beach County Zoning Commission to oppose the applica- tions for re- zoning filed on behalf of Eugene F. Bie, Trustee; Robert A. Crawford; by Bert Abstein as Agent; Humble Oil and Refining Co.; by A. W. William, Jr., and Sun Oil. Co.; by M. D. Teemly, Agent; and in retaining the law firm of Sales and Houston, of West Palm Beach, Florida, to institute and prose- cute legal actions in the Circuit Court of Palm Beach County, against the Zoning Commission and the owners of said properties for the purpose of contesting the actions of the Zoning Commis- sion in granting said applications for re- zoning and seeking an injunction and other relief, be and the same is hereby ratified, confirmed and approved, and Minutes of Special Meeting of City Council of September 17, 1965 Page 2 FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage. ADWRNMENT: There being no further business to come before the meeting, upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously adopted, it was adjourned.
