MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL
HELD ON MONDAY, JANUARY 13, 1964
The regular meeting of the City Council was held at Howell
Watkins Jr. High School, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on Monday,
January 13, 1964, at 8:00 P.M.
QUORUM: Vice Mayor Horace S. Miller, acting as Chairman, called the
meeting to order and announced that a quorum of the City Council
was present.
MINUTES OF MEETINGS OF The City Clerk read in full the minutes of the meetings of
DECEMBER MU AND DECEM-
BER , the City Council held on December 10 and December 11, 1963. There-
after, these minutes were, upon motion duly made, seconded and
unanimously adopted, approved without comment or revision.
The City Clerk read in full the reports of the Palm Beach

POLICE REPORTS FOR Gardens Police Department for the month of December, 1963, and

PALM BEACH GARDENS Vice Mayor Miller informed the Council that bids had been

DEPARTMENT: received on equipment for the Palm Beach Gardens Volunteer Fire
Department. These bids were turned over to Chief William O'Brien
at the close of the meeting. A general discussion concerning fire
protection in Palm Beach Gardens took place at this time.
REGISTRATION OF VOTERS The City Council conducted a general discussion of the

registration of voters in Palm Beach Gardens. Thereafter, the
following resolution was duly made, seconded and unanimously
adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED, That action be immediately taken to effect
a registration of all electors and freeholders within the
City of Palm Beach Gardens.
PALM BEACH GARDENS HOME- Vice Mayor Miller brought to the attention of the City Council
OWNERS' ASSOCIATION;
LETTER TO JOHN D. MAC- an article which had appeared in the Miami Herald on January 13,

10, 1963; ARTICLE IN 1964. At this time he stated that, in light of this article, it

1,3,, 19 was necessary that he read a prepared statement. Thereafter, Mr.
Miller read to the City Council a letter dated December 10, 1963,
addressed to Mr. John D. MacArthur from the Palm Beach Gardens
Homeowners' Association, Incorporated, which letter had been turned
over to Mr. Miller by Mr. MacArthur. A general discussion concerning
the contents of the newspaper article and this letter thereupon
ensued. Mr. Miller recommended to the Council that the suggestions
set forth in the aforementioned letter be taken under advisement by
the Council and that the same be discussed at the next regularly
scheduled meeting of the City Council. This suggestion met with
the unanimous approval of the City Council.
NEXT MEETING; The next meeting of the City Council will be held on Monday,
January 27, 1964, at 10 :00 A.M., at 9076 Keating Drive, Palm Beach
Gardens, Florida.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the meeting it
was duly adjourned.
