HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 100264i CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OCTOBER 2, 1964 SPECIAL MEETING: A special meeting of the City Council was held at 1001 Park Avenue, Lake Park, Florida, on Friday, October 2, 1964, at 10:00 A. M., in accordance with the call of the Mayor. QUORUM: The Vice Mayor called the meeting to order. City Clerk called the roll of City Councilmen and announced that a quorum of the City Council was present. PROPOSED AGREEMENT The City Clerk read a proposed agreement between the Florida BETWEEN THE CITY AND FLORIDA EAST East Coast Railway Company and the City for the synchronization COAST RAILWAY COM- NI- of a traffic light and the Railroad's safety device at Monet Road ZAT ION OF TRAFFIC LIGHT AND SAFETY and AIA. After discussion, Council decided to go forward with DEVICE AT MONET ROAD such proposal. RESOLUTION FOR THE Upon motion duly made and seconded, the following Resolution SYNCHRONIZATION OF TRAFFIC LIGHT AND was passed and adopted: SAFETY DEVICE AT AIA: "BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor of the City of Palm Beach Gardens, a municipal corporation of the State of Florida, as follows: 1. That the City of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, does hereby contract and agree to enter into an agreement with Florida East Coast Railway Company wherein and whereby said City of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, is given the right and privilege to construct, install and maintain for the purpose of synchronizing traffic signals at Monet Road with the Railway's crossing protective devices, (1) a sub - grade conduit with necessary cable beginning at a point on the westerly side of the Railway's westerly right of way; thence extending southerly parallel with and 10' distance from center line of Railway's southbound main to point of crossing under Railway's tracks at the north backwall of Railway's Bridge #290.26; thence northerly parallel to and 10' distance from centerline of Railway's northbound main to a subgrade concrete Junction box; thence easterly to a pole, (2) a traffic signal mast with arm mounted traffic signal located on Railway's right of way 18' more or less westerly from center line of Railway's southbound main, also pole located on Railway's right of way 60' more or less Minutes of Special Meeting of City Council of October 2, 1964 Page 2 easterly from center line of Railway's northbound main. Said pole to support overhead cable and messenger to the north and east. Each messenger to support one traffic signal for regulating automobile traffic (3) one di- rectional detection treadle for regulating eastbound traffic located 16 feet more or less easterly from center line of Railway's northbound main, as more fully described in License Agreement attached hereto and made a part hereof. 2. That the Mayor, with the attestation of the City Clerk, be and they are hereby each authorized to execute said Agreement for and on beha4 of the City of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. 3. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.' ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the meeting, upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, same was adjourned. I _ —IN NOTICE OF AMENDMENT OF ZONING ORDINANCE AND ZONING MAP STATE OF FLORIDA - CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS TO: THE CITIZENS AND RESIDENTS OF PALM BEACH GARDENS: PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, That on the 5th day of November, 1964, at 10:00 o'clock a.m., at 1001 Park Avenue, Lake Park, Florida, a meeting will be held by the City Council of PALM BEACH GARDENS, also acting as a Zoning Board for the purpose of amending the Zoning Law and Zoning Map of the CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS, to show the amendment of part of Zone R -1 to Zone R -3, as described in Exhibit "A" of petitions filed by American Airmotive Corporation, a Florida corporation, and Royal American Realty, Inc., a Florida corporation; That said petitions are on record at the address above set forth, and may be examined for the descriptions of theproperties therein described, and their relation to the Zoning Map.
