SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 3, 1963
SPECIAL MEETING: Upon call of the Mayor, a special meeting of the City Council
of Palm Beach Gardens was held at 10 :00 o'clock A.M. on Wednesday, June 3,
1963, at the municipal office of said City, 1001 Park Avenue, Lake Park,
Florida.
UORUM: The Mayor announced that a quorum of the City Council was present.
RECONVEYANCE TO The Mayor reminded the Council that, by an Agreement dated
BANKERS LIFE
AND CASUALTY February 10, 1962, between the City, American Airmotive Corporation and
COMPANY:
Bankers Life and Casualty Company, the City had agreed to reconvey to
Bankers all land not needed to satisfy the City's contractual commitments
to the Professional Golfers' Association of America. The land so needed
has now been definitely ascertained, as evidenced by and encompassed in
the plat which the Council approved on May 22, 1963. Accordingly, the
Mayor recommended that the Council authorize the reconveyance of the balance
of land no longer needed by it to Bankers Life and Casualty Company.
Whereupon, after further discussion, the following Resolution
was duly made, seconded and unanimously adopted:
WHEREAS Bankers Life and Casualty Company has heretofore
made a gift of land in Sections 11, 12 and 14, Township
42 South, Range 42 East, Palm Beach County, Florida, to
the City of Palm Beach Gardens, to be used for the law-
ful public purposes of the latter, and
WHEREAS, by an Agreement dated February 10, 1962, Bankers
and the City agreed, inter alia, that the City would
reconvey to Bankers all land previously given it and not
necessary to the City's contractual commitments to the
Professional Golfers' Association of America, and
WHEREAS City has surveyed and platted all the land
required to satisfy said dommitments, leaving a
balance to be reconveyed to Bankers,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of PALM
BEACH GARDENS, in common council convened, that the
following described realty, located in Sections 11
and 12, Township 42 South, Range 42 East, Palm Beach
County, Florida, be, and the same hereby is, recon-
veyed in fee simple to Bankers Life and Casualty
Company, to wit:
All of Section 11 and the west half of Section 12,
Township 42 South, Range 42 East, Palm Beach County,
Florida, LESS the following described parcels of
land:
(1) The east 53 feet thereof.
(2) The north 530 feet thereof.
(3) All of that portion of the above described
property lying within the BOUNDARY OF GOLF CLUB SITE
OF THE PROFESSIONAL GOLFERS' ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA,
according to the plat thereof recorded in Plat Book
27, Pages 182 and 183, Public Records of Palm Beach
County, Florida.
(4) Beginning at a point in a line parallel to
and 53 feet westerly from (measured at right angles
to) the east line of the southwest quarter of Section
12, Township 42 South, Range 42 East, Palm Beach County,
Florida, at a distance of 165 feet northerly from
(measured at right angles to) the south line of said
southwest quarter of said Section 12; thence southerly,
along said parallel line a distance of 89.96 feet to
the beginning of a curve concave to the northwest,
having a central angle of 900 05' 10" and a radius of
25 feet; thence southwesterly, along the arc of said
curve, a distance of 39.31 feet to a point of com-
pound curvature; thence westerly, along the are of a
curve concave to the north, having a radius of 880
feet and through an angle of 70 29' 15 ", a distance
of 115 feet; thence northeasterly, along a line
radial to said curve, a distance of 108.42 feet, more
or less, to a point in a line parallel to and 165
feet northerly from (measured at right angles to) the
south line of said southwest quarter of said Section
12; thence easterly, along said parallel line, a dis-
tance of 125.41 feet, more or less, to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Norman Rowland and Alice
Gary, Mayor and Deputy City Clerk, respectively, of
the City of PALM BEACH GARDENS, be, and the same
hereby are, authorized and empowered to execute and
deliver by and in behalf of the City to Bankers Life
and Casualty Company, a warranty Deed in usual
statutory form, conveying all of the aforementioned
land, free and clear of all liens and encumbrances,
except easements and restrictions of public record
and real estate taxes subsequent to December 31, 1962.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, it
was duly adjourned.
By his signatureto these minutes, each Councilman hereby
waives notice of this meeting and confirms his affirmative vote to
the actions recorded in these minutes.
