HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 111163CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 1963 The regular meeting of the City Council was held on November 11, 1963 at 10:00 o'clock A.M. at 9076 Keating Drive, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. QUORUM: Vice -Mayor Horace S. Miller, acting as Chairman, called the meet- ing to order and announced that a quorum of the City Council was present. MINUTES OF MEET- Vice -Mayor Miller briefly summarized the minutes of the regular ING OF OCTOBER 28, 1963: meeting of the City Council held on Monday, October 28, 1963. REMOVAL OF The City Council received a report that the residents of Palm "CIRCLE" FROM STREET NAMES: Beach Gardens were not in favor of removing the word "Circle" from certain street names in Plat No. 3 and Plat No. 6, City of Palm Beach Gardens. PALM BEACH GARDENS The report of the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department for the POLICE REPORT FOR OCTOBER, 1963: month of October, 1963 was read in full. PETITION TO ANNEX Vice -Mayor Miller advised the Council that he had received two KELLY PROPERTY AND PERLOV TRACT petitions relative to the annexation of realty in Palm Beach County, TO CITY: �~ Florida, into the City. These petitions had been received from Kelly Bros. Real Estate, Inc., relative to property that it owns in Section 5, Township 42 South, Range 43 East, and from George E. Weaver, Trustee, relative to property which he holds title to in Section 13, Township 42 South, Range 42 East (known as the Perlov Tract). These two petitions were then read in full, are attached hereto as Exhibits "A" and "B" respectively, and are incorporated herein by reference. ORDINANCE 0 -E; The Vice -Mayor further advised the Council that at his request INTENT TO �- /ANNEX KELLY Municipal Counsel had prepared an Ordinance expressing the intention on AND PER07—MOP- ERTIES TO CITY: the part of the City to annex the Kelly and Perlov properties to the City as soon as possible after thirty (30) days from the enactment of the Ordinance, which Ordinance was tentatively numbered Ordinance 0 -E. u Whereupon, the Clerk read the proposed Ordinance in full for the first time. MISCELLANEOUS: The City Council accepted complaints from certain residents of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, relative to uncompleted portions of street paving, defective or inadequate drainage, weeds on unimproved lots, and obstructions to swales. The City Council also discussed the proposed acquisition and financing of equipment for the Palm Beach Gardens Volun- teer Fire Department, and the jurisdiction of the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department.
