HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 011262CITY OF PALRI BEACH GARDENS REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL JANUARY 12, 1962 The regular meeting of the City Council was held at 1001 Park Avenue, Lake Park, Florida, January 12, 1962 at 10:00 o'clock A,M. QUORUM: It was announced by the Clerk that a quorum of the City Council was present. RESIGNATION The Vice Mayor, acting as Mayor, announced that William OF CITY TREASURER: J. Gentle had tendered his resignation as City Treasurer effective January 5, 1962, his letter of resignation be- ing attached hereto and made a part hereof. Whereupon, upon Reso- lution duly made, seconded and unanimously adopted, Mr. Gentle's resignation was accepted. APPOINTMENT The Vice Mayor recommended to the Council that Robert R. OF CITY TREASURER: Pickering, the present Tax Assessor, also be appointed as City Treasurer. Whereupon, upon Resolution duly made, seconded and unanimously adopted, Robert R. Pickering was appointed City Treasurer of Palm Beach Gardens. OATH OF The Oath of Office of Robert R. Pickering, as City Treasurer, OFFI ^_E: is attached hereto. APPOINTMENT The Vice Mayor advised the Council that Article VI of OF CITY �V­J.: the City Charter provided for a City Court and for the appointment by the Council of a Judge thereto. It was determined after discussion, that Carl F. Ellwanger possessed the qualifica- tions required by the City Charter. Whereupon, upon Resolution duly made, seconded and unanimously adopted, Carl F. Ellwanger was appointed City Judge of Palm Beach Gardens. OATH OF The Oath of Office of Carl F. Ellwanger, as City Judge, is SCE: attached hereto. DISORDERLY PERSONS ORDINANCE, SECOND AND FINAL READING: the meeting of to, the Counci The Council then read for the second and final time the Disorderly Persons Ordinance, tentatively designated General Ordinance No. N, introduced at December 29, 1961. There being no objection there - 1 then by unanimous vote ordained that this Ordinance be ratified and affirmed, to take effect thirty (30) days after date hereof. ANIMAL AND FOWL The Council then read for the second and final time ORDINANCE, SECOND AND FINAL READING: the Animal and Foal Ordinance, tentatively desig- nated General Ordinance 7, introduced at the meet- ing of December 29, 1961. There being no objection thereto, the Council then by unanimous vote ordained that this Ordinance "be ratified and affirmed, to take effect thirty (30) days after date hereof. OCCUPATIONAL The Council then read for the,second and final ORDINANCE, time the Occupational Registration Ordinance, SECOND AND FINAL READING: tentatively designated General Ordinance g, in- troduced at the meeting of December 29, 1961. There being no abjection thereto, the Council then by unanimous vote ordained that this Ordinance be ratified and affirmed, to take effect immediately.
