MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL - WEDNESDAY, JULY 18, 1962
• A meeting of the City Council was held at 1001 Park Avenue, Lake Park, Florida
on Wednesday, July 18, 1962, at 11 :00 o'clock A. M.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor.
UORUM: The City Clerk reported a quorum present.
WHEREASa It has come to the attention to the City of Palm Beach Gardens that at
a meeting held by the Zoning Commission of Palm Beach County, Florida, on July 12,
1962, at the County Courthouse in West Palm Beach, Florida, a Petition for the
re- zoning of certain property on the South side of Lake Park Road was heard; and
WHEREAS: Said Petition was filed in the name of Vance; and
WHEREAS: Said Petition appeared as Item 1 on the Zoning Commission's Agenda.
for said meeting; and
WHEREAS: No objections were na de to said Petition for re- zoning, it was therefore
allowed; and
WHEREAS: The allowance of said Petition for re- zoning is inconsistent and
detrimental to the entire city planning and zoning of the City of Palm Beach
Gardens; and
WHEREAS: Had the City of Palm Beach Gardens had knowledge of said Petition, the
City of Palm Beach Gardens would have appeared at said hearing and opposed.said
Petition; and
WHEREAS: It is demand necessary for the City of Palm Beach Gardens to request
that the Zoning Commission of Palm Beach County, Florida, reopen and re -hear said
Petition.
RESOLUTION: NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the CITY OF PALM BEACH
GARDENS, Palm Beach County, State of Florida, as follows:
That the acting Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to request the Zoning Commission
of Palm Beach County, Florida, to set a date for a re- hearing on the Petition for
re- zoning of said property in order that the objections of the City of Palm Beach
Gardens may be heard.' n
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Zoning Commission of Palm Beach County, Florida be
requested to take cognizance of the overall city planning and zoning ordinances of
the City of Palm Beach Gardens.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the acting Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to take
such action as is necessary for the re- establishment of the zoning of said property
as it appeared of record prior to July 12, 1962.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the acting Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to
request the Zoning Commission of Palm Beach County to provide the City of Palm Beach
Gardens formal notice on all further Petitions for re- zoning of property adjacent
to the City of Palm Beach Gardens.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the Council, the
meeting was adjourned.
