HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 020261-0 CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS MINUTES CF CITY COUNCIL - THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 1961 A meeting of the City Council was held at 1001 Park Avenue, Lake Park, Florida on Thursday, the 2nd day of February 1961, at 10 :00 o'clock A.M. The meeting was called to order by the Mayor. QUO RUM: The City Clerk reported a quorum present. RESIGNATION OF The Mayor advised the Council that J. H. KLINCK had tendered CITY ENGINEER: his resignation as City Engineer and Building Official in writing, to become effective February 1st, 1961. ACCEPTANCE OF RESIGNATION: Upon motion duly made and seconded, and by unanimous vote of the council present, the resignation was accepted and the council expressed its regrets in losing such a capable public official who so unselfishly assisted the City in its formative state, and it was moved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to him. APPOINTMENT OF CITY ENGINEER: The name of MARK GARNETT, who had served as assistant to Mr. Klinek was suggested as his successor, as City Engineer, and after dis- cussion and analysis of his qualifications, and upon motion duly made and seconded, and by unanimous vote, MARK G.�'aNETT was appointed temporary City Engineer. BUI11ING CODE, ELECTRICAL CODE, PLUMBING CODE and SAFETY CODE: N It was moved and seconded that a report be made at the next meeting of the Council czi the Building and Safety Codes presently in use in the City and that any necessary ordinances adopting said codes be drafted. M. The meeting was called to order by the Mayor. UQ ORUM: The City Clerk reported a quorum present. WATER AND WHEREAS: The City of PALM BEACH GARDENS did on the 15th day of April SEWER RATES: agree to furnish water and sewer service to residential users in an area adjacent to the City; and SCHEDULE OF RATES: WHEREAS: The rates under said agreement were established and based in part on its experience and the experiences of other utilities supplying water and sewer services in the area; and WHEREAS: The Federal Housing .Administrator has approved said rates sub- ject to future amendment; and WHEREAS.- On August 13, 1960, the City entered into a contract for the construction of water and sewer lines from the City's water and sewer system to the new plant of the Radio Corporation of America, and to supply water and sewer service to said company based on regular monthly charges levied for such purposes; and WHEREAS: After a study of the said rates it was the conclusion of the Council that the same would provide a fair return on the replacement cost of said utility; that the same were fair and reasonable and would not result in a loss to the city, or excessive cost to the residential and commercial users. BE IT, AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS, PALM BEACH COUNTY, STATE OF FLORIDA, as follows: Section 1. That the schedule of monthly rates, fees, rentals and other charges to be made for water and sanitary sewer service to the users thereof, or those entitled to the use thereof shall be as follows: SCHEDULE OF RATES WATER RATES: - Residential Use 0-to 5,000 gals. 5,000 to 10,000 gals. 10,000 to 25,000 gals. Excess over 25,000 gals. SEWER RATES: - Residential_ Use Less than 5,000 gals. water used Over 5,000 g als. water used Each additional toilet or bathroom over two Charge for disposal $2.50 (Minimum Monthly Charge) a 400 per 1,000 gals. 35¢ per 1,000 gals. 30¢ per 1,000 gals. $2.50 (Minimum Monthly Charge) $3.00 per month .50 per month .50 per month r -A� ti. COMMERCIAL RATES: DEPOSIT REQUIRED IN ADVANCE 5/8" Meter $10.00 3/4" Meter 15.00 1" Meter 20.00 METER CONNECTION CHARGE 5/811 Meter $40.00 3/4" Meter 60.00 I" Meter 80.00 The Radio Corporation of America shall be charged a minimum water rate of 30 cents per thousand gallons for a trial period of one (1) year, and a minimum rate of $125.00 per month for sewer service for a trial period of one (1) year. Section 2. That said rates, fees, rentals and other charges for resi- dential and commercial_ charges may be revised from time to time as may be necessary.
