MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL - TUESDAY, APRIL 18th, 1961
A meeting of the City Council was held at 1001 Park Avenue,
Lake Park, Florida, on Tuesday, the 18th day of April, 1961, at 10:00
o'clock A. M.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor.
QUORUM: The Clerk declared a quorum to be present.
ANNEXATION The Mayor presented to the City Council the petition of Bankers
OF KEATING
TRACT: Life and Casualty Company, an Illinois corporation duly authorized
to do business in Florida, requesting annexation to and incorpora-
tion in the territorial limits of PALM BEACH GARDENS, the follow-
ing described property:
THAT certain parcel of land located in the east half
of Section 13, Township 42 South, Range 42E, Palm
Beach County, Florida, more particularly described
as: The Northeast Quarter and the Southeast Quarter
of said Section 13, less the following described par -
cels of land: (1) The West 991.36 feet of the South
430 feet of said Northeast Quarter; (2) The West
350 feet of the South 350 feet of said Southeast Quar-
ter; (3) The right -of -way for Military Trail (State
Road No. 809) over the West 50 feet of said Northeast
Quarter and Southeast Quarter; (4) The right -of -way
for Lake Park W6st Road over the South 50 feet of said
Southeast Quarter; (5) That certain parcel of land
approximately 40 acres, described as Unit #1 Palm Beach
Square according to the plat thereof filed in Plat Book
26, pages 143 and 144 of Plats Palm Beach County records.
(6) Subject to a County easement over the north 100 feet
of the south 430 feet of the NE quarter of said Section
13.
The Mayor advised the Council that it appeared from the records
of Palm Beach County that the petitioner is the owner of said property and
that said land is adjacent to and contiguous with the territorial bounda-
ries of the CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS. Whereupon:
An ordinance to annex the land described in said petition, a
' copy of which is attached herewith, was read in full for the first time
together with the petition, a copy of which is attached herewith and in-
corporated herein by reference.
Upon first reading, by unanimous vote of the council peresent,
the ordinance was unanimously approved, and a second and final reading
was ordered for a meeting of the council to be held May lst, 1961.

PETITION TO ANNEX CERTAIN LANDS
'3 WITHIN TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF PALM BEACH GARDENS
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA
TQ THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND
MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL OF
PALM BEACH GARDENS:
Your petitioner, BANKERS LIFE AND CASUALTY COMPANY, an Illinois corporation
authorized to do business and acting in Florida, respectfully shows:
OUSFJP That it is the owner of certain lands in Palm Beach County, Florida,
OF LANDS: described as follows:
THAT certain parcel of land located in the east half of Section 13,
Township 42 South, Range 42E, Palm Beach County, Florida, more par-
ticularly described as: The Northeast Quarter and the Southeast
Quarter of said Section 13, less the following described parcels of
land:
(1) The West 991.36 feet of the South 430 feet of said Northeast
Quarter;
(2) The West 350 feet of the South 350 feet of said Southeast
Quarter;
(3) The right -of way for Military Trail (State Road No. 809) over
the West 50 feet of said Northeast Quarter and Southeast
Quarter;
(4) The right -of -way for Lake Park West Road over the South 50 feet
of said Southeast Quarter;
(5) That certain parcel of land approximately 40 acres, described
as Unit ;rl Palm Beach Square according to the plat thereof
filed in Plat Book 26, pages 143 and 144 of plats Palm Beach
County records.
(6) Subject to a County easement over the north 100 feet of the
south 430 feet of the NE quarter of said Section 13.
ADJACENT That said lands adjoin and are within 3 miles of the territorial
AND boundaries of the CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS.
CONTIGUOUS:
PETITION
TO ANNEX: WHEREFORE: your petitioner respectfully prays that said lands be
annexed to the CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS as provided by Article V.
paragraph (29) of the City's Charter organized and existing under
Chapter 59 -1707 of the local acts of the Florida legislature.
