CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS
MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL - MAY 8th, 1961
The regular meeting of the City Council was held at 1001 Park
Avenue, Lake Park, Florida, on Monday, May 8th, 1961 at 10:00 o'clock
A. M.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor.
QUORUM: It was announced by the Clerk that a quorum of the City Council
was present.

The Mayor advised the Council that Bankers Life and Casualty
Company had filed a petition with the Council acting as a
Zoning Board requesting the Council to amend the Zoning Ordi-
nance and Zoning Map of the City by reclassifying and re-
zoning certain lands described therein, to -wit:
Reclassifying and rezoning all of Section 1,
T42S, R42E, except the N2 of the SEµ of the
NUJ—'„ and except the South 700 feet of said
Section; from classification Zone "NP' to classi-
fication Zone "R-111; and
Reclassifying and rezoning the South 700 feet of
Section 1, T42S, R42E from classification Zone "M"
to classification Zone "C -2%
After reading said petition the Council discussed the same and it was
moved, seconded and unanimously resolved that an amended Ordinance be draft-
ed, Notice of Hearing be given in accordance with the statute in such cases
provided, and that a public hearing be held on said petition June 8th, 1961,
at 10:00 o'clock A. M. at 1001 Park Avenue, Lake Park, Florida, and in the
meantime said petition be referred to the Council acting as a Zoning Board
for further examination and study.
MOTION TO RECESS: It was moved and adopted that the meeting be recessed and
adjourned to convene at 3:00 o'clock P. M. so that a study
could be made of the request for rezoning and reclassifying as set forth
in said petition and for an examination of the Zoning Map.
RECONVERTING OF The Council reconvened at 3:00 o'clock P. M.

FIRST READING The Mayor advised the Council that an amended Zoning Ordinance

REZONING PART had been prepared by its municipal counsel amending and re-

ZONE "G2" classifying part of Zone "M" to Zone "R -1 ", and a part of
Zone "PV" to Zone °C -211, in accordance with a petition pre-
sented at the morning session.
The Clerk then read the Ordinance tentatively numbered 111 -C" for
the first time.
Whereupon, it was moved and supported that the meeting be adjourned.
