HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 100660I CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS \, SPECIAL NEETING OF CITY COUNCIL Upon call of the Mayor a special Council meeting of the City of Palm Beach Gardens was held at 2:00 FM on October 6th, 1960, at 1001 Park Fvenue, Lake Park, Florida. The Clerk announced a quorum to be present, and waiver of notice by all Council members. PALM BEACH SQUARE, ANNEAA- TIONr ZONING— Keating Palm Beach Properties, Inc. petitioned the City Council, asking leave to have certain properties purchased by it, annexed to the City of Palm } Beach Gardens; and simultaneously zoned C -2 (commercial). The petitioner explained that it had pending before the Board of County Commissioners, a petition for the zoning of the property in question, consisting of 1,750 feet, more or less, frontage on Lake Park West Road (North - lake Boulevard) in the Southeast quarter of Section 133 Township 42S, Range 42E; and approximately 730 feet, more or less, bordering on Military Trail, as ex- tended, in the Northwest corner of the Northeast quarter of said Section 13. Since arrangements have been tentatively agreed upon whereby the properties in question will be furnished with sewage service and water by the City of Palm Beach Gardens, the petitioning company preferred to have the business property in question annexed to and zoned by the City of Palm Beach Gardens. It was understood that the petitioner was not yet ready to file its plat with k the City; but wished assurances at this time so that it might abandon its negotiations with the county on the zoning question. After discussion the following resolution was unanimously enacted: R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS,Keating Palm Beach Properties, Inc. is purchasing certain land in the east half of Section 13, Township 42S, Range 42E, and WHEREAS, when the said corporation shall have secured releases for certain portions of this property from its purchase money mortgage, it desires to have said portions annexed to the City of Palm Beach Gardens and z one d C -2 commercial; and WFE REAS, the subject property is in close proximity to the borders of the City of Palm Beach Gardens; and said zoning is consistent with the overall plan of Palm Beach Gardens (1) NCW THEREFORE BE IT R.SOLVED, /that the areas in discussion are those areas in said east half of Section 13,which are indicated by shading and lettering "rezoned to Commercial Area C -1 -A" upon the zoning map drawn by Brockway, Weber & Brockway, their File No. TF- 2026 -8, (2) The City of Palm Beach Gardens agrees to annex said indicated areas when formal petition shall be filed by the owners there- of, on or before December 31, 1960. (3) That if and when said areas shall be annexed to the City of Special Council meeting 10 /6/60 page two Palm Reach Gardens upon the filing of a plat plan thereof, meeting the zoning requirements of the City, said area shall be zoned C-2, heavy Commercial.
