Gardens Summer Camp meets GardensArt
The GardenArt program exhibits the work of professional artists and photographers at the City Hall Municipal Complex rotating every 6 -8 weeks. This summer the show was “Gardens Grown” by AJ Brockman.
AJ is an award winning artist who has a passion for art, & design. He also has SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy), a progressive neuromuscular Disease, and has been wheelchair bound since age 2.
A.J. Brockman attended summer camp with the City of Palm Beach Gardens through his teen years. He later stayed on and worked as a counselor and hall monitor assisting with our summer camp programs. He truly has grown up with us in Palm Beach Gardens. AJ Camp Gardens Counselor 2005
On June 12 and 14 Camp Gardens walked campers ages 9 -13 over to the City Hall Complex for a brief video describing how his art is was created. The campers, ages 9 -13 viewed the art exhibition and were able to ask lots of questions. They also very much enjoyed meeting AJ’s service dog “Dre ”. AJ’s positive attitude towards life was very educational and beneficial for our campers!
