This is the final phase of the three -phase Oak Park Office Condominiums Planned Unit Development (PUD), which is located on the west side of Prosperity Farms Road approximately 1,580 feet south of the intersection of PGA Boulevard and Prosperity Farms Road. This phase consists of a two -story, 17,172 square - foot medical office building, which will be located in the northwest corner of the site at the rear of the PUD. The applicant is proposing to locate the art work inside the entry to this final phase of the development, as shown on the attached plans. There is only one entrance to the site from Prosperity Farms Road which serves all three phases of the development. Please contact me at 799 -4237 if you have any questions or require additional information. Attachments Jh /Oak Park/Art in PP Workshop memo 7 19 05 Art & Culture Group, Inc. Bills, Enterprises Budget - $16,000 art & cultural Dear AIPP Advisory Board Member: programming For your review prior to the public art location workshop, please find attached information on the proposed Oak Park Office building and site. The site can be design and seen as "Phase II Site" on the attached "Locator Sketch" to the west of OakPark consulting Office Condominium Phase I and Phase III. Office buildings on Phase I and Phase III have been completed for many years. The access for all three phases is from Prosperity Farms Road, south of PGA Blvd. and North of Monet Road. As one can see from the attached site plans and architectural plans, the access drive from Prosperity Farms Road continues straight west between Phase I and Phase III to the proposed Oak Park Office building on Phase II. The primary access onto the Phase II site begins where this common access drive from Prosperity Farms Road abuts the eastern Phase II property line. There are many beautiful large oak trees and cabbage palms on this property. In consideration of this the developer has had the office building, paving and drainage designed with the intent to save as many of these large trees as possible. The canopy of Oak trees will be continuous on a large portion of the site. The two story office building is rectangular in shape and will be located at the northern quarter of the property with the long length of the building running east - west and the building entrance facing south towards the parking area. Most of the area behind the building will be a dry detention area as well as an area along the east property line between the building front and pedestrian sidewalk. 66 St. James Drive Palm Beach Gardens The primary access drive into the site curves south before curving north to the Florida 33418 Phone/fax: (561) 622 -9892 front of the building, giving way to a large landscape island at the center of the eastern property line. This island will contain existing Oak Trees and Cabbage Palms. Boston fern and Coontie plants, which are low growing landscape material, will be planted under the Oak trees and Cabbage Palms. It is felt that this landscaped island area next to the primary access drive is the best location for the art in public places. This location offers visual access to pedestrian and vehicular traffic accessing this site as well as those working and visiting other office buildings in Phase I and Phase III. I look forward to meeting with you on July 19, 2005 to review this project and discuss the location for the art in public places. 11441— Lucy M. F. Keshavarz Art & Culture Group, Inc. July 5, 2005 - AIPP Advisory Board City of Palm Beach Gardens 10500 North Military Trail Palm Beach Gardens, Florida 33410 Re: AIPP Advisory Board meeting - July 19, 2005 Artist's portfolio review workshop Project - Mirasol Town Square Owner - Palm Beach Acquisitions, LLC Budget - $70,800 Dear AIPP Art Advisory Board Member: art & cultural On the November 17, 2004, AIPP Art Advisory Board meeting I came before you programming to workshop the public art location and conceptual plan for Mirasol Town Square. At this workshop it was agreed the public art for this project should be located in design and the plaza / turnabout area in front of building "D." A concept was presented consulting which had the public art integrated into the site as a site specific and functional work of art. It was to be collaborative between artist and design consultants and include a proposed fountain within the plaza / turnabout area. The actual art was to be carved glazed tiles with a patriotic theme (US Constitution) installed on four, eight foot tall columns which represented the four directions of a compass. The overall design of the fountain and plaza area was to incorporate a compass and sun image, which would tie the patriotic theme with the name " Mirasol" which means look to the sun. Since that time the developer has decided it would be best not to put a fountain in the plaza / turnabout area. The public art concept discussed with the Board on November 17, depended heavily on the fountain and therefore, this concept has been abandoned. However, the developer still wishes to include functionality within the overall design and will continue with a patriotic theme for the art; referencing the Declaration of Independence, Constitution and honoring soldiers that serve to protect our country's freedom. After reviewing several artists' work, three artists, who create realistic figurative bronze sculptures, were short- listed: W. Stanley Proctor, www.wsproctor.com; James Muir, ww-w.jamesniuir.com; and George Lundeen, 66 St. James Drive www.lundeensculpture.com. These artists create exceptionally hi&, (j lW tp ~ Palm Beach Gardens realistic figurative works and they have completed sculpture as well as propoAV Florida 33418 1)622 work that fall within a patriotic subject matter. Phone/fax: (561 X22 -9892 P J Q U( Fpm &PLgnrS 200.5 Ar "Thomas Jefferson" by George Lundeen was chosen by the developer. Attached you will find the artist's bio and examples of his work. I have also included a project location map and a section of the site plan indicating the "Art in Public Places Area" to re- familiarize you with the project and public art location. I look forward to meeting with you for the artist's portfolio review on July 19, 2005. Si Lucy M. F. Keshavarz / Art & Culture Group, Inc.
